Cookie BlockingCookie Blocking is one of the security settings in the webpolls used to prevent cheating. When Cookie Blocking is enabled, a temporary file called a "cookie" is set on the user's computer after they vote. If a user attempts to vote who already has a cookie, their vote is refused.
The advantage of cookie blocking is that it is practically impossible for a user who hasn't voted to be accidentally excluded (as can sometimes happen with IP Blocking).
The disadvantage is that cookies are not secure, and many users are sufficiently tech-savvy to cheat by clearing their cookie cache or refusing the cookie.
We recommend that this option be used in conjunction with Captcha Blocking or IP Blocking.
