IP BlockingIP Blocking is one of the security settings in the webpolls used to prevent cheating. When IP Blocking is enabled, the IP Address of every user voting on the poll is recorded. Once that IP has reached it's maximum number of votes, any further attempts are rejected.
Some users (such as those behind corporate or university firewalls) may share an IP Address. When this happens, a user who has not voted may be blocked because someone else has already voted from the same IP.
IP Blocking is much more secure than cookie blocking, but can still be circumvented by some users who have access to a block of IP addresses, or are able to release/renew their IP.
